Sonny Rollins

I heard Sonny Rollins live in concert two times. Both were incredibly inspiring. The last time I saw him was when he played at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. The hall was sold out. Rollins played with such an indescribable energy. He always went forward, straight into the music, the groove, the flow.
Coming home from that performance I just had to pick up my own horn and try to recreate this feeling I had during that show. This was what music is all about. Long live Sonny Rollins!
